Male rape survivors tackle military assault in tough-guy culture
Thu May 16, 2013
Sirlafalot, I'm sure you meant your post to be lighthearted (and that you meant no harm) and I appreciate your attempt to be sensitive, but having someone hit on you and having sex forced on you are two vastly different things; and-please don't think of me as having no sense of humor-but, as someone …
Benghazi, IRS, AP: A guide to the 3 storms confronting the White House
Thu May 16, 2013
It appears that, as usual, the views of most people regarding this story are strongly colored by their political ideology. I supposed I'm really no different since I don't really trust either political party.
America's Cup in doubt as death of gold medal yachter Bart Simpson is reviewed
Sat May 11, 2013
I wonder if Rober has ever been to San Francisco. I'm not a liberal, but I loved my visit there! And we didn't just concentrate on tourist spots. My sympathies for the death of Mr. Simpson.
Last of Cleveland kidnap victims out of hospital, said to be in good spirits
Fri May 10, 2013
Joyful Hawbaker, I can't imagine the pain you must have experienced with all you have gone through. I don't think anything hurts more than having something hurt our children.
Woman who survived 16 days in collapsed building: 'Never dreamed I'd see the daylight'
Fri May 10, 2013
The responses of Adam44 and Uncle Ben to this story sort of remind me of how someone responded to a story I told about a friend of mine who lost her son to cancer at age 16, though not as bad as the guy who responded to my story.
1 in 8 boomers reports memory loss, large survey finds
Thu May 9, 2013
I guess, as many have said, there's nothing new under the sun. We all like to blame someone else for the things in our lives that we don't like. If we don't blame the government, we blame our parents-or even our kids.
Cleveland man charged with kidnapping, rape; no charges for 2 brothers
Wed May 8, 2013
There is always someone who gets into race and ethnicity, and it's not unusual for immigration to enter the mix, whether it is relevant or not! Just FYI, the people I know from Puerto Rico all have jobs-and I stongly suspect people would be complaining about them living off our taxes if they didn't.
Chris Christie: Weight-loss surgery allows 'active next half' of my life
Tue May 7, 2013
I wish Christie the best as he begins this new phase in his life.
'Pull over, pull over!': Driver describes horrific Bay Area limousine fire
Mon May 6, 2013
A lot of things in that limo could have been quite flammable-hairspray (which is actually very flammable), formal dresses, booze (even just a little)-and only a small spark could cause a fire.
Oops! Woman accidentally swallows $5,000 diamond at charity event
Fri Apr 26, 2013
Makes one wonder how much she had to drink before drinking from the champagne glass with the diamond in it-because I would think one would normally notice if they swallowed a one carat diamond, unless they were gulping it pretty good! (I know what size a one carat diamond is-and, although it's cert …
Questions & Answers
'I love my children. I hate my life.' Do you agree?
No. Having kids is hard, but the joy they bring is immeasurable.
Was terrified of kids. Parenting initially hard but got better. Lots of challenges, but turned out to be much more a pleasure than dreame
Dave, you've probably heard this before, but perhaps you had the wrong therapy. I know many people who survived serious childhood abuse and lived with flashbacks who have recovered with the right therapy. Some were even suicidal or practiced self harm.
For Cool in Scottsdale... First of all, I think it's time to knock off the judgemental remarks-don't you think she's had enough! At least you (Cool) were honest. I can't say that parenting was easy for me, nor can I say that I was the best mother in the world.
Tammy, I totally understand. I just don't think putting down Cool any more is going to help her. She's obviously in pain and in need of help, and I pray she gets it for herself and her child.
